Fife man more than five times the legal limit

A Fife man has been warned that he could face jail after being caught driving while more than five times over the legal drink driving limit, reported STV news this week.

Richard Farrer of Anstruther was pulled over by police while driving through Crail on 31st October 2013. When he was breathalysed by police he gave a reading of 192 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit in Scotland is 35 micogrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.

Farrer pled guilty to a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol at Cupar Sheriff Court. He has been released on bail while background reports are prepared prior to sentencing.

A drink driving conviction can have serious consequences, including a driving ban, a fine and even a custodial sentence. At MJS, we understand the impact a road traffic conviction can have on your life. Losing your licence can often mean losing your livelihood. As such, we aim to try to keep our clients on the road wherever possible.
